personality: Oliver is a very ... quirky would be a good word to describe him. There's a hint of charm behind his crooked smile, and he's in the process of learning to use that to his advantage. He is a fairly intelligent person, and very well read, having spent his free time in the used bookstore where he works. He wouldn't necessarily classify himself as shy. On the contrary, Oliver has no problem talking to people, strangers or friends, however, he doesn't necessarily do it that often, giving people the first impression that he is a bit timid. Gossipers around town would place this personality trait on the fact that the "...poor boy lost his father only so long ago...", but there's not much truth to that reasoning. Oliver has no problem telling it like it is - sugarcoating was never really his style- and that might be the reason why he finds himself with very few friends around the small high school of Forks.

history: Oliver was born in Seattle. He moved to Forks when he was thirteen, his parents preferring the small town setting to life in the big city; it didn't hurt that they found a huge steal on an amazing home as well. Staying in Washington for the past seventeen years of his life was just fine with Oliver; he absolutely adored gloomy weather, the rain being his favorite. Being in Forks, though? He wasn't so sure. Still, it wasn't too bad.
His father was in attorney an Port Angeles, and his mother a stay-at-home mom. Oliver's father was always telling him to follow his heart when it came to the boy's career -Oliver dreamed of becoming a writer- while his mother always focused on something more practical. She was always saying he should focus on a better paid job, and has she has constantly dropped the hint for him to become better acquainted with Carlisle. it's never too early to create connections, after all.
Two years ago, Oliver's father took his daughter into the city. Rebecca's birthday was coming up, and they wanted to surprise her with the perfect gift. Oliver stayed in town that day, his job being to distract their mother; he was never any good at gift buying anyway. That was the day the Spark's family disintegrated. On the way to their car in Port Angeles, Walter and Kimberley were robbed and killed (so the story goes - the real truth is that a passing group of vampires got to them, however, this is unbeknownst to anyone, except perhaps the cullens, who know better).
Now his mother works two jobs: one as a secretary in the city during the day, and another as a waitress at the local diner in the evenings. Oliver helps out with his small part-time job at the bookstore, and the two of them manage to get by just fine. Things have started to go back to normal around the Sparks house since the tragedy, yet there is still in uneasy quietness in the air.
Let my love loose again.
